The 25th Annual Downtown Asheville Turkey Trot

Online registration closes at 3pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. You can register in-person at early packet pickup on Wednesday, November 26 at Fred Anderson Subaru from 3pm-6pm or on race day, Thursday, November 27, 2025 in Pack Square Park from 7am-8:30am. Cash, check, or card.

Turkey Trot 5K & Gobble Wobble 1 Mile Fun Run:

Turkey Trot starts at 9:15AM. Gobble Wobble 1 Mile Fun Run starts at 8:30AM.

Metered parking is free downtown on Thanksgiving Day. Parking garages are not free. We suggest parking on any of the streets near the Woodfin St YMCA or Pack Square Park: College St, Oak St, Walnut St., or any of the surrounding streets.

Early Packet Pickup will be hosted by our friends at Fred Anderson Subaru!

Runners can pickup their race packets early on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 from 3pm - 6pm at Fred Anderson Subaru located at 110 S Bear Creek Rd. Asheville, NC 28806. Packet pickup is a bagless event in order to cut down on waste and single-use plastics. If you are picking up for multiple runners, consider bringing a bag to secure your items.

      I-240 W/I-26 E
Take exit 1B for Brevard Rd/NC-191 toward I-40 E

To get to Fred Anderson Subaru from South Asheville:

Get on I-26 W/US-74 W - 0.9 mi

Head north on NC-280 E

0.7 mi

Use the left lane to merge onto I-26 W/US-74 W via the ramp to Asheville

Follow I-26 W to NC-191 N. Take exit 33 from I-26 W - 8.0 mi

Merge onto I-26 W/US-74 W

5.3 mi

Continue onto I-26 W/US-74 W

2.4 mi

Take exit 33 for NC-191 toward Blue Ridge Pkwy

Use the left 2 lanes to take the ramp to NC-191 N

Race Day Packet Pickup will also be available on Thursday, November 27, 2025 in Pack Square from 7am-8:30am.

1. Please have your bib displayed clearly on your front and visible at the Start and Finish lines.

2. Don't wrinkle or fold the chip on the back of your bib.

3. Chip times will be there for your own personal information but Gun time will determine awards. Therefore line up at the start line in the appropriate pace group for a safer and fairer event for all involved.

This renowned Asheville race starts at the island on Woodfin St in front of the YMCA (30 Woodfin St Asheville, NC 28801) and will take you through the historic neighborhood of Montford before ending at Pack Square Park (80 Court Plaza, Asheville, NC 28801). No pets or dogs allowed on the course, please, due to the congestion in and around the start/finish line. The course is not completely closed so this is for safety purposes. Strollers are welcome, and will be asked to start at the back of the pack. Faster folks in front, walkers in back.

Turn-by-turn course description:

• Race starts on Woodfin Street in front of the downtown YMCA

• Head toward Central Ave, turn right.

• To the top of the hill, turn right on E. Chestnut St.

• Turn left on Charlotte

• Follow Charlotte St to Evelyn Place, turn left

• Follow Evelyn place, crossing Edwin/Kimberly to Murdock St, turn left onto Murdock  

• Follow Murdock to Hillside St, turn right (Water stop on Murdock)

• Hillside to N. Liberty, turn left.

• Follow Liberty, crossing Chestnut St to Orange St, turn left

• Follow Orange to Central Ave., turn right onto Central

• Follow Central Ave down to Woodfin St, turn left on Woodfin

• Follow Woodfin which changes name to Oak St. to the traffic circle

• Turn right onto College St.

• Finish is approximately .1 mile on the left at City/County Plaza
